Confederate money has become so much sought after that it is now becoming quite difficult to obtain in decent condition.
All grades of CSA currency are now rapidly disappearing into collections.
The "T" numbers and the Subtype numbers refer to the Criswell Catalog numbers of the CSA and Southern State Currency.
I will continue to offer a selection of CSA Currency to complement the Postal History as it becomes available.
All the notes listed are in grades which are very collectible.
Due to the extreme difficulty in obtaining CSA currency, I cannot offer discounts on these items to anyone.
The CSA Member and Dealer Discounts do not apply to the currency section as I am offering these items at the lowest possible prices already.
I believe the notes are fairly graded using the standard grading system.
Many of the Confederate period notes have small pinholes.
A small number of pinholes not readily apparent, particlarly on the lower grade notes, are expected and may not be mentioned in the description.
Many are actual pinholes caused by early dealers late 19th and early 20th century who had the habit of displaying the notes for sale in their shops by pinning them to cork bulletin boards.
Other small holes are due to the simple wearing away caused by normal handling and circulation of what was at the time of printing very thin and very low grade paper to begin with.
Most notes have a scan of only the front side as 4 of the notes have a blank reverse.
Other notes have only a simple design on the reverse.
When a more complex reverse design is present, then both sides are scanned.
If a scan of the reverse of any note is required, just send me an E-mail and I would be happy to supply a scan of the reverse by return E-mail.

The "Indian Princess" is one of the rarest and most iconic of the Confederate type notes.
This note, Serial No Ab 4239, was not previously listed on the recorded census and is newly discovered.
It has now been added to the census.
Fricke in his book listed 115 examples with the highest grade recorded being AU only one and only a very small number of notes that grade VF and none that grade XF.
Most of the known examples are lower grade and have defects as the note was originally printed on very poor quality paper.
This note was recently graded by the PMG as "25 Very Fine" which makes it a very high grade for this note.
There are no defects, but there is a small period ink stain at the lower right.
The note has no repairs and no restorations.
This note is a consignment item and remains in the possession of the owner, but it is for sale.
Please serious inquiries only.
